My name is Len Meyer, and I own and operate CedarEX. Together with my brother Joe, a journeyman carpenter, we bring over 40 years experience and even though business is booming, I still get up on the roof every day and get my hands dirty, ensuring that we see first hand what goes into your roofing project.

My wife and I started the company as a small business on Vancouver Island, and the first thing we decided upon when we started was to do everything better - we knew that, like finding a good mechanic, when you find a good roofer, you tell your friends, so we wanted to be the people that were worth that kind of word of mouth. That's why we show up when we say we will, or keep you informed when schedules change. We stay within budget, ensure quality workmanship, and have put time and money into research and development to create roof protection treatments that we feel are good enough to use on your home.

And sure enough, the referrals started coming fast - so much so that our business now stretches out to the Lower Mainland in and around Vancouver, and our roof treatment products are so well-respected that we now export them to the United States.

But we're not resting on our laurels - homeowners are telling us in large numbers that they want an environmentally safe alternative to installing a whole new roof, and so we've set that as our next research target: Safer products, longer-lasting products, recycled products - the years ahead should be very interesting indeed.

My father, Ed Meyer, worked as a logger in Copper Canyon on Vancouver Island for over three decades, so you could say cedar is in the family bloodline. He logged trees and planted new seedlings for re-growth and future harvesting as early as 1948, which sometimes has me wondering whether I'm installing the same cedar he planted, on homes throughout Vancouver Island and the Lower Mainland. Perhaps that's just a dream, but it's a nice dream to have when you're looking down on a roof of fresh, beautiful BC cedar.

The fact that we manufacture our own treatment products means we can stand solidly behind everything we do. If there is a problem with your roof or treatment, you need only call us and we can fix it fast. All other BC roofers utilize secondary sources (imported) for their roofing products, but we prefer to know exactly what's going on your roof, and know that it's the best available, rather than relying on distant suppliers to get it right.
